Lakehouse Home Store closes its doors after 15 years.

A little over nine months after the Lakehouse showroom closed its doors, the flagship store on Bernard Avenue is following suit.

The Lakehouse showroom left the historic building on Ellis Street and moved into the store on Bernard, sighting 2023 fires, the introduction of new provincial short-term rental restrictions and an overall decline in tourism and real estate.

Now, after 15 years, the Lakehouse Home Store has officially closed its doors, but will continue to offer the Lakehouse Kitchens Cooking School upstairs in the Bernard location.

Owners Ben and Sue Boschman said they are now shifting the focus entirely to what the company does best, 鈥渃elebrating food, wine, and local ingredients through immersive cooking classes and curated chef-led events.鈥

鈥淥ur classes are designed to inspire and delight- whether you鈥檙e a local or just visiting the Okanagan,鈥 said the Boschmans.

Cooking classes come paired with the region鈥檚 top wineries, seasonal ingredients and freshly made cocktails, prepared alongside award-winning chefs in the Chef鈥檚 Theatre.

However, the Boschmans did hint that they may be looking for retail space in the fall and would be announcing more information at that time.
