The "Piccolofondo" kids' bike race returns to downtown Penticton on July 12, 2025.

Hundreds of kids are set to shine on Lakeshore Drive as the annual "Piccolofondo" bike race comes to Penticton.

The free event is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, in celebration of Okanagan Granfondo weekend in the Peach City.

Children aged three to 10 will race along the iconic Penticton street from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

All registrants will receive a bike plate, juice box, cookie, and medal at the finish line.

Lakeshore Drive, between Winnipeg Street and Riverside Drive, will be closed due to the event from 6 to 11 a.m., according to the city.

Around 300 children participated in the race in 2024. People can register their kids for the event

The event has been scheduled in Penticton since 2011. It always runs one day before the Okanagan Granfondo, which will welcome around 2,000 cyclists to the city for a race on Sunday, July 13.
