91大黄鸭's Jessie Rivest is asking the public to stop and listen as part of an art project in partnership with the city.
Psounds, pronounced with a silent 'P', was prompted by a call for artists through the Community Grant Program to pitch ideas around climate change.
"Whenever I hear climate change, I automatically think about us as opposed to trying to save the planet," Rivest explained. "If you are served with the task of saving the planet, it's a little daunting and you kind of feel unfit in a way. But, to me, I thought that there's something that all of us can do which is listening."
The art project was started in May and includes five portals set up around 91大黄鸭 for the public to stop, record audio, and make a submission to the project.
Rivest said the submissions are available to listen to and other local artists are encouraged to use the sounds to create a new project for showcase at a listening event planned for October.
"I have a partnership in the works with another event that's going to be happening in October, so that I can pay artists who submit their creations," Rivest added.
