Chinese-Canadian indie folk artist to tour Cariboo, Okanagan

Musician Tennyson King is touring the Cariboo and the Okanagan in late July and early August.

An experienced artist with a variety of sounds is set to tour B.C.'s Cariboo and Okanagan regions.

Chinese Canadian indie folk musician and artist Tennyson King is set to tour around B.C. and Alberta, right after coming off of a tour in Taiwan with Juno-winning artist Aysanabee and a United Kingdom tour which included a stop at Glastonbury Festival.

King often weaves Mandarin, Cantonese, and English together in his songs while using instruments like rhythmic acoustic guitar and a driving kick drum.

鈥淚鈥檓 thrilled to share music that reflects my heritage and the places I鈥檝e travelled,鈥 said King. 鈥淚t鈥檚 about telling stories鈥攖hrough language, guitar and zhongruan (Chinese string instrument).鈥

Now, King is embarked on a 22-show, six-week tour which will feature the following Cariboo and Okanagan stops:

  • Quesnel - Wednesday, July 30 - Barkerville Brewing
  • Fort St. John - Thursday, July 31 -  Music in the Park
  • Moberly Lake - Friday, Aug. 1 - Marcie's
  • Prince George - Saturday, Aug. 2 - Omineca Arts Centre
  • Kamloops - Tuesday, Aug. 5 - Music in the Park
  • Salmon Arm - Wednesday, Aug. 6 - Wednesday on the Wharf
  • Revelstoke - Thursday, Aug. 7 - Revy.Live Outside
  • 91大黄鸭 - Saturday, Aug. 9 - Red Bird Brewing
