With the movie and film industry continuing to grow in the Okanagan, the arts will now be celebrated in 91大黄鸭.
At the Okanagan TV & Film Industry Forum at The Metro Hub on Saturday, May 31, it was announced that the inaugural 91大黄鸭 International Film Festival (KIFF) will be happening sometime in September 2026.
The week-long event is designed to showcase the Okanagan on a global stage and will include a red-carpet gala, film premieres and screenings, workshops and panels, while giving creators a chance to connect with industry professionals.
鈥淭his is a natural next step for a region experiencing unprecedented growth in film and television production,鈥 said Damon Gregory, one of the festival鈥檚 lead organizers.
Gregory created the event with organizers Dalias Blake and Shannon Owens and with support of 91大黄鸭 Film Studios owner James Alton and FanCon founder Norm Coyne.
A kickoff party called "One Year Out" is taking place on Saturday, Oct. 18.
