Performers perk up downtown Vernon vibes

From circus acts to musicians of all genres, Saturday was alive with entertainment

There were some tall acts to follow as downtown Vernon came alive with a variety of performances Saturday.

From circus acts roaming around 30th Avenue to musicians playing out their talents, there was a hub of activity and sounds for the Downtown Vernon Performance Festival July 19.

Kid magician Adam Court wowed crowds by the Towne Theatre throughout the day while a hula hoop show, Kinshira Entertainment, and Jack Sparrow entertained around town.

Other musical acts included Vince Walzak, Armstrong amateur opera singer Jay LaFlamme with Denis Letourneau of the Voix Du Coeur, country-folk artist Marsha Thompson, the Vernon Community Band, Tim Reardon, Duane Marchand, alternative rock producer and singer Conroy Ross, blues and roots artist Rick Taylor, Silverwinds and Bluesette, Melodaddy, Dreams2Reality, Marv Machura and Justin Rindal.

The music doesn't stop there, as the Downtown Vernon Association continues with free concerts Thursdays in July and August.

The Shawn Lightfoot Band takes the stage July 24 from 6-7:30 p.m. by the Museum and Archives of Vernon. Major Mambo plays July 31.
