91´ó»ÆѼ Yacht Club racer Scott Moore and his sailing team aboard Corona Bob took first overall at the regatta held on Okanagan Lake this past weekend
The 2016 Blossom Time Regatta annually held on the May long weekend and sponsored by the 91´ó»ÆѼ Yacht Club got off to a slow start on Saturday when the necessary winds did not fill in until noon.
The 27 participants in the four divisions were sent off to enjoy the light breeze and the challenges of competing with fellow club members as well as eight visiting boats from Calgary, Nelson, Vernon, Summerland and Penticton. After four races, the crews retired to the docks where the BBQ dinner was served.
Another four races on Sunday were sailed under totally different conditions – the winds were strong and rain threatened. Fortunately the rain held off and the challenging conditions made for some exciting stories in the lounge while waiting in anticipation for the awards.
