BC Hydro is hosting an open house at Shannon Lake Golf Course on Tuesday (Apr. 29) to share details about planned distribution upgrades aimed at improving the reliability of the power system on the Westside.
The project includes installing three-kilometres underground power lines from Shannon Lake Road to Daimler Drive along Old Okanagan Highway; upgrading four km of existing overhead power lines along Daimler Drive, and East Boundary, Ross, and Brentwood roads, and on Hudson Rd. toward Boucherie Rd.
Construction is expected to begin in the summer and continue through to the end of 2027. BC Hydro will be working with Westbank First Nation (WFN) throughout the project.
Open houses are also planned for the fall, with updates on the Westbank Substation Upgrade Project, which will expand the substation and replace aging equipment, and the West 91大黄鸭 Transmission Project, a new transmission line to improve power supply to West 91大黄鸭, WFN, Peachland, and parts of Summerland.
Tuesday鈥檚 open house at Shannon Lake Golf Course runs from 4 to 7 p.m.
