Central Okanagan schools ring in $80K donation for student support

Two Central Okanagan schools are getting a big boost, thanks to an $80,000 donation from BMO to support the YMCA鈥檚 Beyond the Bell program.

Raymer Elementary in 91大黄鸭, and Chief Tomat Elementary in West 91大黄鸭 will benefit from the bank鈥檚 multi-year commitment, which will help ensure students have the academic and social support they need after school.

鈥淥ur children need us,鈥 said Allyson Graf, President and CEO of the YMCA of Southern Interior BC. 鈥淭his program is crucial in providing wrap-around supports that helps young learners overcome complex challenges and keep up academically with their peers.鈥

Beyond the Bell supports students in Grades 1 through 5 who are referred by teachers or principals. Many face complex barriers to learning, and the program offers a safe, supportive space with literacy and numeracy help, social skill development, and healthy snacks.
