91大黄鸭 Conservative candidate Tracy Gray has taken to Facebook to thank those who have supported her during her time in Ottawa.
"It has been an honour to serve as the Member of Parliament for 91大黄鸭-Lake Country since 2019 and to stand up for issues important to people in our community in Ottawa and to be engaged and involved in our community," . "I would like to congratulate MP-elect (Stephen) Fuhr."
Gray also thanked her family, supporters, donors, and volunteers.
"I鈥檓 proud of the tireless efforts made on this campaign in reaching out to people across our community to hear what is most important to them - over 80,000 doorsteps collectively - and for the gains in support we saw," she added. "Thank you also to my valued office team members for their work every day as we focused on serving our community together."
Gray defeated Fuhr in the 2019 federal election.
Fuhr led this year's race in the 91大黄鸭 riding all through election night (Apr. 28) with the vote gap at more than 1,500 ballots at one point. However, Gray had closed the margin to 66 votes just before the count was suspended late in the evening.
on Tuesday (Apr. 29), have Fuhr with 28,702 votes (48.5 per cent) and Gray with 26,625 votes (46.7 per cent), a difference of 1,077 votes.
The NDP's Trevor McAleese ended up in third with 2,271 votes (3.8 per cent). Catriona Wright of the Green Party drew 579 votes (1 per cent).
According to Elections Canada, the voter turnout in 91大黄鸭 was 70.62 per cent with 59,177 of 83,801 eligible voters casting ballots.
