Developers of the proposed McKinley Wine Village are seeking city approval to allow an alcohol production facility on the site.
Documents were submitted by G Group Developments, the firm behind the McKinley Beach project, on June 10.
The village will span 12 acres near McKinley Beach and adjacent to the under鈥慶onstruction Azhadi Winery. It would offer 15 to 20 tasting suites operated by vintners who must produce wine on-site under BC Liquor Board regulations.

According to the submission, the village site lies outside the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR), minimizing environmental impact and avoiding interference with protected farmland.
G Group states that support for the project has come from local vintners, including Jeff Harder of Ex Nihilo, that is aligns with the city鈥檚 agriculture plan, promotes sustainable tourism, respects ALR boundaries, and contributes to the valley鈥檚 reputation as a destination for wine culture.
