On July 30, seven Emergency Support Services volunteers from Summerland and five from Penticton were deployed to Peachland to support the Regional District of Central Okanagan.

The volunteers operated a reception centre in Peachland, providing support to residents whose homes were under evacuation order.

Volunteers continued until late into the night, ensuring residents received timely information, essential resources and support.

Volunteers with the Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team were also present to provide support to ensure the safety and well-being of animals during the response.

鈥淭he coordinated response effort demonstrated the strength of regional partnerships and the importance of collaboration during emergency events,鈥 the regional district said in a news release.

鈥淭he response effort is a true reflection of the compassion, professionalism, and teamwork that define the emergency response community.鈥
