A program launched in the height of the pandemic is continuing to expand five years later.
In 2020, the Discover Parks Ambassador program was launched in a collaborative effort by BC Parks and the BC Parks Foundation.
After the program started with just five parks, it has now expanded to 25, now including Bear Creek Provincial Park along Westside Road.
鈥淒iscover Parks Ambassadors are forging a powerful connection between people and BC's incredible natural landscapes,鈥� said Simran Sarai, a long-time Discover Parks team member with BC Parks Foundation. 鈥淲e've seen how our programs turn casual visitors into passionate conservation advocates."
The Discover Parks Ambassador program was designed so ambassadors could run educational programs like guided walks and family-fun activities at various parks across the province.
