2 spot fires break out near Kamloops

Two fires near Kamloops have been sparked by lightning

A pair of fires near Kamloops broke out late Wednesday night.

According to B.C. Wildfire Services, fires near Lyons Lake are 0.1 and 0.4 hectares in size.

Both blazes are east of Heffley Creek and were sparked by lightning at 8:32 p.m. and are classified as out of control. 

Eight firefighters and three helicopters are responding.
