West 91大黄鸭 residents could be looking at a three per cent property tax increase in 2018.
That鈥檚 the figure being recommended to city council by staff in a report on the proposed provisional budget to be presented to the public in January.
A staff report going to council Tuesday about the budget says a key decision will be whether to use $650,000 in discretionary funds to help build up the city鈥檚 reserves鈥攖o be used on future projects鈥攑ay for projects not included in the 2018 budget or lower next year鈥檚 tax hike to 2.5 per cent.
The proposed annual tax increase has hovered around the three per cent mark in west 91大黄鸭 for several years. The municipality celebrated its 10th year of incorporation earlier this month.
West 91大黄鸭 city officials plan to hold a public open house on the proposed budget Jan. 31 and following that, council will decide what, if any, changes are to be made. The budget must be approved by the end of April.
