The body recovered from South Thompson River has been identified as Thelma Vaughan.
鈥淰aughan鈥檚 vehicle was found abandoned on Feb. 7 near the Lafarge Bridge. The vehicle had been parked there since at least Feb. 3,鈥 said Cpl. Jodi Shelkie, in a press releae.
鈥淲hen Thelma could not be immediately located, an extensive investigation was undertaken which included search efforts being conducted by the Kamloops RCMP, Kamloops Search and Rescue and family members.鈥
At this stage of the investigative, police do not believe that a criminal offence occurred. The Kamloops RCMP continue to assist the BC Coroners Service with their investigation into Vaughan鈥檚 death.
No further information is available from the Coroners Service or the RCMP at this time.

Kamloops RCMP have confirmed a body was found in the South Thompson River on Wednesday.
Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said police were called after a resident reported finding the body partially submerged in the water in the 700-block of Shuswap Road, across the South Thompson River from Highland Road in Valleyview.
Shelkie said the body of a woman was pulled from the river in the afternoon. The report of the body was made just before 11 a.m.
鈥淭he identity of the woman has not been confirmed,鈥 Shelkie said. 鈥淎t this stage of the police investigation, it is not believed that a criminal offence occurred.鈥
Mounties and the coroner鈥檚 office are continuing their investigation.
