Fire south of Summerland extinguished

The fire was located on Gartrell Road in the hills above Trout Creek

Firefighters were able to get a quick handle on a blaze off Gartrell Road south of Summerland. 

Ten Summerland firefighters responded to the scene as did Summerland Power.

The 0.3 hectare sized fire spread across a hillside and came within three metres of a home, but no structures appear to have been damaged. 

Crews were able to bring the blaze under control.

The cause of the fire is not currently known.
