Constructive meeting held with Carr鈥檚 Landing Community and Recreation Association

Three members of the Carr鈥檚 Landing Community and Recreation Association left a meeting with the District of Lake Country feeling positive, Nov. 16.

The district met with members to discuss the contentious land near Gable Beach North which the municipality aims to sell in order to reduce 91大黄鸭鈥檚 interest in Lake Country rail trail lands.

Cara Reed, a resident of Carr鈥檚 Landing, called the meeting 鈥渧ery constructive and positive.鈥

鈥淚鈥檓 looking forward to going further on that. I don鈥檛 think anything is going to happen for the next few weeks but it鈥檚 good to get the ball rolling.鈥

The beach has been a controversial issue in Lake Country, with around 50 residents gathering to protest the sale of the land near Gable Beach , Nov. 7.

The negotiated . The bylaw involving the contentious beach was deferred by district council at its last meeting.

According to Matt Vader, district manager of strategic and support services, the meeting went well and there are no meetings scheduled for the near future.
