Close to 70 curious folks checked out the future of clean energy vehicle (CEVs) at the 91大黄鸭 Winter Farmer鈥檚 Market on Saturday, as the market hosted six top of the line CEVs.
The first Electric Avenue for 91大黄鸭鈥檚 Winter Farmer鈥檚 Market allowed market-颅goers to experience electric vehicles, while learning about the government incentive program CEVforBCTM.
鈥淏.C. is a leader when it comes to clean energy vehicles, with not only sales 鈥� but also the largest charging network in Canada,鈥� said Blair Qualey, President and CEO of the New Car Dealers Association of BC. 鈥淚t鈥檚 important that British Columbians are aware of the savings available to them when purchasing a qualifying vehicle through the CEVforBCTM program.鈥�
Market goers on Saturday had the opportunity for an up-颅close experience with the Nissan Leaf, Kia Soul, Chevrolet Bolt, BMW 540e and Ford Fusion Energi, amongst others. Visitors also took the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about owning a CEV and the provincial point of sale incentive program, CEVforBC鈩�.
CEVforBC鈩� provides point of sale incentives of up to $5,000 (and an addition of up to $1,000 for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles) to qualified B.C. residents, businesses and public agencies for the purchase of a CEV. Over the course of the program, CEVforBC鈩� has supported the addition of more than 4,000 CEVs on B.C.鈥檚 roads.
As of Fall 2017, there are over 25 different vehicle models eligible for provincial incentives, including the models that were featured at the Winter Farmer鈥檚 Market Electric Avenue.
The first Electric Avenue for 91大黄鸭鈥檚 Winter Farmer鈥檚 Market took place alongside a Green Star Dealer awards ceremony. Local dealership, 91大黄鸭 Nissan, was presented with their Green Star Dealer Award for Top Battery Electric Vehicle Sales in the Interior.
