A 26-year old intoxicated man wound up spending the night in police cells after making several 911 calls.

Received around 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, the calls were from an intoxicated 26-year-old man from a 20th Street. NE residence. The man warned "if police showed up at his house 'it won't be good' and that he was going to "f*** them up," said Salmon Arm RCMP media relations officer Const. Andrew Hodges in a news release.

Police showed up at the residence to find the caller lived with his parents.

"His father told police he was unable to reason with his son," said Hodges. "The 26-year-old man exited the house yelling at police that he believed he had the right to waste the police鈥檚 time."

The man was arrested for being intoxicated in public and held in cells over night. The father agreed to pick his son up in the morning.
