His father, Pierre Trudeau, may have made his mark in Salmon Arm for all the wrong reasons, but Prime Minister Justin Trudeau clearly has a different feeling about our city.
During his recent tour of Canada, Trudeau was taking questions from students at Ecole Robert H Smith School in Winnipeg when he was met with a cheeky query.
In response to the child's question, Justin Trudeau revealed his opinion of our city is much warmer than his father's.
"Ok first question, what is my favourite spot in Canada?" he quipped. "Salmon Arm, B.C."

After that, Trudeau defended his father for doing the best job he could.
鈥淢y father had an approach to politics that not everyone agreed with,鈥 Trudeau said to the shell-shocked audience.
鈥淪ome of the decisions my father made, there were a number of people who disagreed with [them] quite intensely, and they didn鈥檛 always get along the best way,鈥 he continued.
