91大黄鸭 city Coun. Charlie Hodge is out of hospital and back home.
Hodge posted the news on the weekend on his Facebook account, saying he was released from 91大黄鸭 General Hospital Friday afternoon, after the tracheotomy doctors installed following his jaw surgery last month was removed.
鈥淲hile far from healed, or fully on my feet, (I鈥檓) well enough to go home and avoid any infections common at hospitals,鈥 said Hodge.
鈥淚 am thrilled and blessed to announce I am back at home with my sweetheart wife and kitties.鈥
The 91大黄鸭 politician, who also writes a popular weekly column in the Capital News, said he plans to rest and 鈥渉ide with my sweetie鈥 before attempting to get back to the 鈥渓and of the living鈥 slowly.
Hodge added he will to start back on the book he is writing this week, in between undergoing a battery of tests scheduled for the coming weeks.
On Oct. 25 Hodge had bone taken from his leg and used to replace a titanium rod implanted in his jaw early this year when part of his jawbone had to be removed following an infection stemming from impacted teeth.

Hodge said he hopes to be back at the city council table by Dec. 1. Council will deliberate on the city鈥檚 2018 budget in mid-December.
鈥淚 still have long ways to go,鈥 said Hodge in thanking everyone for their well wishes. 鈥淢y leg is in a robo-boot for a couple of months, so driving is out of the question. If you want to see me, you have to come find me. A call first would be nice.鈥
