An elderly man is in serious condition and police are investigating after a pedestrian involved collision on New Year's Eve in 91大黄鸭.

On Dec. 31, 2015 at 5:13 p.m., the 91大黄鸭 RCMP responded to a collision where a pedestrian had been struck in the 1600 block of Springfield Road. The elderly pedestrian had been crossing Springfield Road, from north to south towards the Chances Casino, when he was hit head on by an eastbound red Suzuki Swift.

"Police have determined that the pedestrian, a 78-year-old 91大黄鸭 man, was dressed in dark clothing and did not appear to be in a marked crosswalk at the time," said says Const. Jesse O鈥橠onaghey, in a press release. "He was taken to hospital by ambulance, and suffers what police describe as serious potentially life threatening injuries."

A collision reconstruction analyst was called to the scene to assist in determining the causal factors of this crash.

"The driver, a 21-year-old Lake Country man, remained at the scene and is co-operating with police," said  O鈥橠onaghey. "Police have ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor and strongly believe that speed was also not a factor."
