On Dec. 28, at 5:43 p.m., a report of a pedestrian involved in a collision at the intersection of KLO Road and Benvoulin Road had emergency crews responding. Police determined that a red Jeep Cherokee bumped into the pedestrian on an electric mobility scooter, causing it to tip over.

The driver of the Jeep is believed to have been in the process of turning left onto Benvoulin Road from KLO Road eastbound, in the right lane of a dual left turn lane, while the scooter was proceeding in a marked crosswalk. Investigators are considering the possibility that the scooter may have been difficult for the driver to see due to a variety of factors.

The driver of the Jeep, a 91大黄鸭 woman in her 40s, remained at the scene.

The pedestrian, a 91大黄鸭 man in his 50s, was taken by paramedics to hospital for treatment of injuries, police believe to be non-life threatening.

The man鈥檚 scooter was removed from the scene by investigators for safe keeping while he was in hospital.
