The Mount Conkle wildfire near Summerland is now mapped at 118 hectares, but is still 90 per cent guarded by BC Wildfire Service crews.
A total of 40 firefighters were battling the blaze today.
鈥淭his fire has responded well to suppression efforts. It is currently 90 per cent hand and machine guarded with hose lined around the majority of the fire,鈥 writes the BC Wildfire Service.

The District of Summerland has rescinded an evacuation order for 23411 Callan Rd. and 25200 Callan Rd and issued an evacuation alert for 951 Meadow Valley Rd, according to the district鈥檚 website.

The wildfire near Summerland is still burning, covering 93 hectares, but is being guarded by BC Wildfire Service crews.
This morning wildfire crews are working to strengthen the line around the Mount Conkle wildfire, located eight kilometres southwest of Summerland. Yesterday, the fire was 90 per cent guarded.
鈥淣ow our objective is to increase what you call a black line and to strengthen it so that the fire can鈥檛 jump it, so that鈥檚 our goal now,鈥 said fire information officer Noelle Kekula.
After that, you鈥檒l start to see containment numbers, she said.
