It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Richard Harwood, who died peacefully at home on June 28, 2025, at the age of 82.

Born in York, England, on May 8, 1943, Peter was educated as a teacher and driven by a natural wanderlust, which shaped his life. As a young man he travelled Europe and North America before settling in Canada and making British Columbia his home. While he explored much of the province, he spent many years in the Okanagan where he taught French at Seaton High School in Vernon. His students and fellow teachers loved his warmth, kindness, and passion for sharing knowledge. In retirement Peter settled in 91大黄鸭 and travelled frequently to South East Asia and Mexico.

Peter loved history, music, and sports. He was physically active throughout his life and enjoyed soccer and squash in his younger years. Later he took up tennis and was a regular at the courts in 91大黄鸭 until shortly before his passing. Both on and off the court Peter had a gift for making connections and was known for his easy-going nature and good humour.

Peter cherished his family and is lovingly remembered by his sons Erin and Max, his daughters-in-law Meagan and Michaela,

and his five grandchildren: Henry, Ramona, Mary, Susan, and Esther. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

An informal celebration of Peter's life will be held at St. Andrew's Anglican Church in 91大黄鸭 on August 9th at 2pm. If you knew Peter Harwood, you are invited to attend. Please bring food and memories to share. We look forward to seeing you there.
