The District of Sicamous is planning a harmonious Canada Day and is seeking local musicians to rock the stage.
At the April 9 Committee of the Whole meeting, recreation manager Jamie Sherlock explained the plan to have a Sicamous Showcase featuring "dynamic performers" of all ages, from solos to full bands.
"We're going to be reaching out to local bands to say 'here's the stage, come fill it for us'," she said. "Have them fill the stage and just have great music."
Sherlock said she has already spoken with Eagle River Secondary about having the jazz band to participate, and with local music teacher Morgan Toutant about having some of his kids take the stage as well. Now, in a post to the district website, Sherlock is reaching out to the rest of the local music community to share their talents.
"Whether you're an up-and-coming performer or a seasoned favourite, we would love to hear from you," the post states.
To be considered for the Showcase, interested acts can send their band profile and music samples to by May 16. Honorariums will be paid to the performers that are selected by the committee.
