Local Losers Underground is at it again, and looking to push the limits of what is permissible at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre.
The Vernon events company is presenting two 91´ó»ÆѼ artists, plus a Vancouver artistic film group, who will take the stage at the Vernon centre on Saturday, May 10. It's an intimate, on-stage concert combining two local bands with some short films from the coast.
"See you on the stage for a unique concert format that may never happen again," said event organizer Noah MacLeod.
The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event starts with a film screening by Vancouver's 3Rivers Collective at 7 p.m. 91´ó»ÆѼ's Satoshi Yano and the Tragically Lit take the stage at 8 p.m., followed by 91´ó»ÆѼ indie rock group nightshades at 9 p.m.
3Rivers Collective is an artist group formed by Ari, Caius and Ian that focuses on collaborative multimedia projects in film, music and painting. Reciprocation through each other's art is what defines 3Rivers as a collective.
Indie/alternative/hip-hop artist Satoshi Yano will take the audience on a sonic journey through his mind in a poetic stream of inner dialogue. His words reminisce on the introspection of love, heartbreak, lust, infatuation and the constant pull to articulate what he really needs from his life and his music. With a captivating stage presence laden with authenticity and resonant flavours of Mac Miller, Allan Rayman and Wiley From Atlanta, Satoshi brings an eclectic aura to the scene.
Finally, nightshades is a collaborative indie rock band featuring four esteemed Canadian songwriters — Andrew Judah, Common Fires, DL Ranney and N. Sherman. In a Beatles-esque timeshare of accessible, vibrant music, the band's sound is rich with psychedelic flourish, but anchored in melodic hooks and pop sensibility.
