Rising country music star Cameron Whitcomb cancelled his second of two sold-out shows at 91大黄鸭's Revelry Food and Music Hub after calling the first show a "disaster".

In a post on Instagram that has since been deleted, the B.C. singer said the music venue was having technical and production issues the morning of July 25 ahead of his first performance.

"Unfortunately, The Revelry's issues were too great and couldn't be overcome," the social media post read. "Last night's show was embarrassing, and I refuse to give my fans a product that doesn't meet my standards."

Whitcomb cancelled the July 26 show at the same venue, telling fans their tickets could be refunded at point of purchase.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I promise to come back to 91大黄鸭 and perform for you in a situation that works for all of us... I sincerely apologize, and really hope the Revelry can fix this."

Whitcomb, who is from Nanaimo but has lived in Kamloops, competed on season 20 of American Idol.

The post has circulated on the social media platform Reddit. One user commented that they were at the show and the mic was cutting in and out during the performance.

"Sent the tech people up to the stage to try and fix it," the post reads. "Things mostly worked once he came back on. All in all, Cameron handled it well, but I can't blame him for cancelling today's show." The user added that they would like to see Whitcomb on stage again, but at a different venue.

In an email to Capital News, Revelry spokesperson Lee Simon said the establishment is "heartbroken" that Whitcomb cancelled his Saturday show.

"During the previous evening's performance, our third-party contracted audio-visual company had experienced a technical issue during the first few songs of the evening. Once resolved, the show resumed without further challenges," Simon wrote. "Several options were presented before Saturday's planned show to demonstrate that all issues were resolved. Unfortunately, those options were denied by the artist."

The venue said it's committed to supporting artists, "even when that includes a show cancellation."
