Golf clubs weren鈥檛 the only things making an impact at the 91大黄鸭 Chamber鈥檚 40th Annual Golf Tournament 鈥� the sold-out event raised thousands for local causes, driving home over $3,900 in support for the YMCA and UBC Okanagan (UBCO).
With 156 golfers, 30 sponsors, and a crowd of enthusiastic supporters, the May 28 event at Harvest Golf Club was a celebration of community, business, and giving back.
鈥淲e had a warm, but productive business and fun day at the Harvest,鈥� said Derek Gratz, president and chair of the 91大黄鸭 Chamber. 鈥淐elebrating our 40th annual tournament made it an extra special occasion, and the networking and the golf combined as we helped offer support not only for business, but for the YMCA and UBCO.鈥�
The tournament raised over $2,530 for the YMCA and $1,400 for UBCO鈥檚 鈥淏eat the Heat鈥� initiative.
Canco Petroleum, this year鈥檚 presenting sponsor, gave golfers a chance to win two Harley Davidson motorcycles with a hole-in-one at holes 1 and 11.
鈥淲e鈥檝e been part of the tournament in previous years, but this is our first year as presenting sponsor,鈥� said Satvir Panesar, CFO of Canco. 鈥淲e couldn鈥檛 be more pleased at the sold-out turnout.鈥�
