Loved ones can be honoured and remembered this holiday season by placing an ornament on a Tree of Memories at the 91大黄鸭 Memorial Park Cemetery.
Starting Dec. 4, visitors to the cemetery can place an ornament on the large tree under the dome at the Promontory Green Interment Garden at the cemetery. Ornaments can also be hung on the spruce trees that frame the Legacy Gardens and the Bennett Memorial.
鈥淲hile the holidays bring people together, it鈥檚 also a time of reflection to think of those who have passed,鈥 said David Gatzke, cemetery manager.
鈥淲e recognize that friends and family don鈥檛 always live near those they wish to remember, or where they鈥檙e interred, so the trees serve as a unique way to pay tribute to a lost loved one during the holidays.鈥
The Tree of Memories program has been offered annually at the 91大黄鸭 Memorial Park Cemetery since 1998. Visitors are welcome to place ornaments on the trees between Dec. 4 and Jan. 4 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily.
The cemetery is located at 1991 Bernard Avenue, at the intersection of Bernard Avenue and Spall Road.
Those who wish to keep their ornaments should retrieve them after Jan. 4 by contacting the cemetery office at 250-862-5518.
