A man turned himself in to the RCMP after the vehicle he was allegedly driving struck two pedestrians and then fled the scene in Nakusp.

Police were called to a pedestrian-involved hit-and-run on Aug. 19, just before midnight.

Once on-scene, officers discovered a man suffering from serious life-altering injuries and a woman with minor injuries.

Both pedestrians were transported to the hospital for further medical treatment.

鈥淭hrough the course of the investigation, police were able to identify a suspect and associated vehicle,鈥 said Staff Sgt. Kris Clark of the BC RCMP. 鈥淟ater that night, investigators located the suspect vehicle that had since been abandoned and seized it for further examination.鈥

Then on Aug. 21, the suspect reportedly involved in the incident turned himself in to police. The investigation is on going.

Anyone who has information, CCTV or dash cam video of the incident who has yet to speak with police is urged to contact the Nakusp RCMP at 250-265-3677.
