A man turned himself in to the RCMP after the vehicle he was allegedly driving struck two pedestrians and then fled the scene in Nakusp.
Police were called to a pedestrian-involved hit-and-run on Aug. 19, just before midnight.
Once on-scene, officers discovered a man suffering from serious life-altering injuries and a woman with minor injuries.
Both pedestrians were transported to the hospital for further medical treatment.
鈥淭hrough the course of the investigation, police were able to identify a suspect and associated vehicle,鈥� said Staff Sgt. Kris Clark of the BC RCMP. 鈥淟ater that night, investigators located the suspect vehicle that had since been abandoned and seized it for further examination.鈥�
Then on Aug. 21, the suspect reportedly involved in the incident turned himself in to police. The investigation is on going.
