Keith MacIntyre, part of Penticton鈥檚 Smart Cities Challenge group said it took less than $50 to make the change to the iconic sign on Munson Mountain Sunday. The working group of volunteers, he said, has spent less than 30 per cent of the $10,000 budgeted for them by the city.

鈥淟et鈥檚 build a physically and mentally healthier, strongly-connected Penticton where each person has access and opportunity to maximize their health potential.鈥

But it鈥檚 all about the conversation, which members of the working group, like Meghan Dimma, say have started already, with many positive conversations around this community.
鈥淭he challenge has already accomplished what it set out to do, which was to create a more engaged community,鈥 said Dimma in a March interview.

The new spelling on the iconic sign is causing some confusion on , with some convinced it鈥檚 a doctored image to more realistic theories.
In other news, is getting ready to submit Penticton鈥檚 entry to the national challenge this week, due on April 24 and based on coming up with 10 projects for a healthier Penticton. #10forpenticton.
