7 graduates from Unisus School in Summerland

Students from the Okanagan Valley and around the world received their high school diplomas from Unisus School in Summerland on May 29. 

The seven students were from Canada, Japan, Vietnam and France.

Linnea Storvold of Unisus School said the school has 150 students, including 27 from 13 countries.

She added that the school provides an International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, which benefits the graduates in their futures.

鈥淚t鈥檚 one of the best educational systems in the world,鈥 Storvold said.

She added that students graduating from the program have been accepted into prestigious universities and will be studying in Japan, Edmonton and Vancouver next year.

Every student at the school has the opportunity to take part in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Porgram. Some chose to complete individual courses for this program while others pursued the full diploma. 

All graduates at the school received the B.C. Dogwood Diploma and five earned the International Baccalaureate as well, One student completed the program with a bilingual International Baccalaureate diploma.

Following high school, Kengo Kuboki, from Japan, will return to Japan to pursue a career in counselling.

Tien Hoang Minh Le, from Vietnam, will be attending the University of Alberta to study engineering and was awarded an international admission scholarship.

Erik Petersen from Naramata will attend the University of Victoria for political science and sociology, and was awarded an entrance scholarship. Petersen was also named class valedictorian. 

Cl茅ment Nauleau Schricke, from France, has received several offers from universities in Italy, and he is weighing his options. He plans to study business and economics at one of these esteemed European institutions.

Finley Wex from West 91大黄鸭 received offers from the University of British Columbia, the University of Toronto and the University of Manchester, and will be returning to Europe to study economics and physics

Eric Yoon from West 91大黄鸭 will study computer science at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, beginning in the Bachelor of Science program.

Hien Anh Trinh, from Vietnam, is headed to the University of Waterloo, one of the top engineering schools in the country, where she will join the Honours Environmental Engineering Co-op program.

During their time in school, beginning in Grade 7, the students work on career goals and by Grade 10, they are streamlining their studies to prepare for their future goals.

The private school in Summerland has been open since the fall of 2018 and has had graduating classes since 2022.
