It could be billed as Battle of the Undefeated—the Okanagan Sun’s (3-0) Aug. 9 matchup against the Westshore Rebels (2-0) is the biggest game of this young 2025 season.

With a win, the Sun would have a four point lead over the current second place Rebels, who are coming off a bye last week.

A search of the current BC Football Conference (BCFC) statistics leaders reflects the dominance of these two teams—of the 13 categories, only one player is not a Sun or Rebel.

Starting with the quarterbacks: The Sun’s Liam Kroeger leads the BCFC in total passed yards with 573, closely followed by Westshore’s Gavin Session with 542. Session leads the conference in touchdown passes with six, and Kroeger with two.

In the receiving department, the Rebels’ Zion Brown holds down top spot in receiving yards with 303, and four touchdown receptions. The Sun’s Jordayne Falconer is second with 193 yds., while running back Gerren Hardisty rounds out the top five with 116 yds. Hardisty also leads the ground stats with 400 yds, and is tops in rushing touchdowns with four.

On the defensive side of the ball, it’s all Okanagan Sun. In the sack department, defensive lineman JaQuintis Summers has six, followed by linemates Jarveon Williams with four and Hunter Bultsma with two.

This seasons top BCFC ball-hawks are Sun defensive back Tariq Brown and line backer Phil Palmarin who are tied with two interceptions each.

It has all the ingredients for a true classic gridiron battle—Sun vs Rebels, Saturday Aug. 9 with kick-off at 4 p.m. at Starlight Stadium in Langley.

The game will be broadcast on AM 1150 with Stephen Keppler and Bill Long, streamed at and available on Telus Channel 1981.

A watch party will be held at Chances Casino, 1585 Springfield Road, in the Sportsbook Lounge.
