Traffic, transit impacts for 91大黄鸭 Apple Triathlon

The 91大黄鸭 Apple Triathlon takes place on Aug. 9 and 10.

The 91大黄鸭 Apple Triathlon returns Aug. 9-10.

It starts and finishes in City Park which means traffic impacts downtown, along Abbott Street to Gyro Beach, and in the Mission.

City Park:

  • South Plaza section closed from Aug. 7-10;
  • South parking area adjacent to sport field closed from Aug. 8-10;
  • All City Park lots closed Aug. 9 until 3 p.m.;
  • Water Street boat launch and parking lot will also be closed Aug. 9 from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Lakefront Promenade between City Park and Waterfront Park will host the running portion of the event and will be in use from approximately 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on  on Aug. 9. City Park remains open to the public during the event.

Traffic control personnel will be visible to direct traffic. Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays. For a map of traffic impacts .

Transit impacts:

  • Route 5 Gordon Drive: The bus stop at Gordon Drive and Casorso Road will be closed and a temporary bus stop will take its place on the north side of Casorso on Gordon Drive. Southbound traffic on Gordon will still be open, with delays expected due to cyclists on the road.
  • Route 15 OnDemand: Riders should expect delays on Dehart Avenue due to cyclists at the intersections of Dehart and Gordon Drive. Vehicles will be signaled through by traffic controllers when there is a safe gap between cyclists.
